Reviews:

Books:

So I read series of eBooks, “Hilda Hopkins” series is total of four books. It is about an elderly lady who love to knit on a knitting machine. Apparently she is an expert on the machine. She is also a very cleaver serial killer as well. Her killing spree starts out as an accident but she discovers she is very good at it. She is also very cleaver in outwitting the police and getting away from them. Who knew a lady in her 70’s could do such things. She looks ordinary, like a granny, which turns out to be in her favor. If you like stories about murder and mystery with a knitting hobby thrown in I highly recommend this series.

Review: eBay

Well, I bought a few things on eBay and won a couple of bids. Most of what I received was as described and quality is acceptable. However, my eBay experience as been soured by poor customer service, in fact the customer service rep was not only rude but treated me like I was totally stupid. That was a big mistake. She seemed to think I had no idea about computers and the internet. Uh, excuse me I retired from years of being in the computer field with my last career as Web Developer so what part would she think I didn’t understand? When I told her that, tactfully, she still responded in negative way. I will say one thing she has broken record down. All I could get from her was “You have to email the seller.” Even though I told her I tried ALL the different links for the seller and the emails came back to me saying, “Can’t be delivered!” GRRRRRRR So I asked for supervisor and eventually was told he was busy on the other phone and would call me back. He never did. Big surprise there.

That brings me to the seller, sfcdirect or SunTec in China, I couldn’t get a hold of them to tell them they had put the wrong address on the order. Why I don’t know as I had just bought 2 items and it had the right address…so why a wrong address on this one? Hmmmm. I couldn’t get a reply until I filed a dispute with Pay Pal, boy howdy, did that get a response! Trusting me, when they said they would mail my item out to “the correct address” just as soon as I closed the dispute, well I closed it. Pay Pal said they don’t reopen disputes. UGH! Well needless to say I never got the item and weeks of emails back and forth because I put a “Negative” comment on the seller on eBay. Well duh, of course I would they got my money and I got nothing. My bank said to talk to Pay Pal again because I used it instead of my credit card they couldn’t help me, apparently Pay Pal is some kind of clearing house. Pay Pal took pity on me and reopened the dispute. They said I was getting my money back…but I haven’t seen it. The seller we want to make you happy so we will send for free. I said ok. So they  said if I changed my negative comment they’d send the item free. I said NO, I’m not changing it. They claimed they were sending item anyway….do I have to tell you I have NOT received it. I’m done with eBay and that seller.

I get most of my knitting tools and some supplies from Knitpicks.com and I love them. I broke one of the knitting needles while knitting…I think I’m to fast…and they replaced it and sent one they thought would work better for me to try (and keep). I love them, it’s nickel plated needles. I can’t sing enough praise for them.

Herschners.com, Smileysyarn.com, Patton yarn.com are also great places to buy yarn and items, I’ve had no problems with them. Smiley’s offered to exchange some yarn as the color was different than the picture. That was super nice of them but I liked the yarn so I kept it. They charge $12.99 for all orders but you have to order at least $50.00 worth. So I buy from them when I need a lot as they have REAL discount prices.

Household, clothes well clothes I try to go to store for otherwise: Amazon.com (I buy a lot from them and have been happy with them. I don’t sell now as I think the price they charge the seller isn’t fair). I buy from collections etc.com, Seventh Ave. Now Seventh Ave I bought the Fat Chief canisters and absolutely love them. When I moved I broke one of the tops and sat down and literally cried. I wrote Seventh Ave and told them what happened and I was broken hearted. Was it possible to buy just the lid I broke. I was so surprised when I got the lid in the mail free and free shipping. Now that is how you keep a customer!

That’s it for now. Busy knitting and crocheting as usual. Have a great day. Doc
