crochet, boloro

Boloro from the video, "MyVos Mariela Alasia 19 Sept, Youtube.com. It was in Spanish/Latin so I did the best I could along with FaceBook friends.
Use the direction below or previous blog. Here I used double crochet with Tripple crochet as last row. Increase stitches in the V stitch or some call it shell stitch as you add rows.
for example
Once you start the V/Shell stitch you will be working around the garment in rows.
First row: 2dc, ch2, 2dc, (or 2trC, ch2, 2trC trC = tripple crochet) 3 rows
4, 5, 6 and 7 row 3dc, ch2, 3 dc (or substitute dc for tripples)
8,9,10,11,12 4dc, ch2, 4 dc
so on until you have desired fullness/size. End each row with slip stitch to the beginning of the row, slip stitch to opening of the V/Shell stitch and start your next row with your V/Shell stitch.
Good luck, any questions please contact me.

Boloro from Latin/Spanish Video

HDC = Half double crochet
SC= single crochet
DC= Double crochet.

V stitch is made up of #HDC, ch2, #HDC or
can be #DB, ch2, #DC where # = the number called for.

I used a size F (5) crochet hook. Yarn 4ply sport weight, soft yarn.

Gauge: 6 rows and 7 stitches = 2 inches.

Chain 31

Row 1) HDC in second ch from hook, HDC in every chain across, ch 2 turn, (ch 2 counts as HDC on next row).
30 HDC total

Row 2, HDC in next HDC and across, ch2 turn

.

Repeat row 2 16 more times for total of 18 rows. (maybe 15 rows if you use a thicker yarn)

1st armhole At end of row 18, do not break yarn….chain 30 for first arm hole, slip stitch into first corner stitch of begging chain (row 1), sc in same stitch as slip st, sc across. 30 sc.

2nd armhole chain 30, slip stitch in corner stitch of row 18 HDC, sc in same stitch as slip stitch, sc across, 30 sc. Do not break yarn.

In 1st stitch of chain 30 armhole (1), * (2 HDC, ch 2, 2 HDC) makes V stitch, skip 2 stitches ** and repeat from * to ** around garment.

Row 2 slip stitch at end of last row to top of first V stitch made (first group of 2HDC, ch2, 2HDC), in the ch2 space, make V stitch (2 HDC, ch2, 2HDC), in next ch 2 space of next V make V stitch.

Repeat row 2 two more times for total of three rows..
Next row....slip stitch at end of last row to top of first V stitch made on last row worked. *(3HDC, ch2, 3HDC) in the ch2 space of previous row**, repeat form * to ** across.
Repeat this row 4 more times.

Next row....slip stitch at end of last row to top of first V stitch made on last row worked. *(4HDC, ch2, 4HDC)in the ch2 space of previous row**, repeat form * to ** across.

Repeat this last row to desired lenght/size.

You can substitute HDC for DC if you like.
